The effect of ground copper slag (GCS) on the strength and fracture of cement-based materials is studied. Up to 15 percent by mass of ground copper slag was used as a portland cement replacement. The strength and fracture toughness of concrete samples were studied using closed-loop controlled compression and three-point bending fracture tests.
